The four armed forces: the Army, the Air Force, the Navy and the Gendarmerie have within their detachments, which range from companies to divisions, parachutist and commando units.
But irrespective of the colour of their berets : red, black, or green (the blue of metropolitan ‘paras’ having been changed to red), parachutists and commandos have a distinctive class of their own as they are all volunteers of elite troops.
Their songs are a reflection of modern times’ knights, who with their valiant noble spirits and pure hearts ideally brave dangers indiscriminately when fighting for a just cause, or whose bellicose character coupled with pride make them adventurers to whom fighting is a challenge.
The accompanying hymn on this page is entitled : "Rien ne saurait t'émouvoir" (Nothing can dampen your spirits). The lyrics (in French) are found herein below.

1 - Tes anciens ont souffert sur la piste,
Comme des chevaliers et des preux.
En ton coeur sois le parachutiste,
Prêt, toujours, à faire aussi bien qu'eux.
Refrain
