Secret Love by Freddy Fender, released in 1975, is a sweet slow-rhythm languorous love song. It is one of those Cajun style songs of the French-speaking inhabitants of Louisiana.
These inhabitants are the descendants of Canadians, Acadians or Cajuns, who were deported to Louisiana as from the mid-18th century, from Canada, during the period popularly known as The Great Upheaval.
Cajun music has had a significant impact on popular music, especially on country music in the United States.
