The song Unchained Melody is taken from the album Just Once in My Life, of the Righteous Brothers, released in 1965.
I was written by Hy Zaret, and composed by Alex North. Thanks to its worldwide success it has been remixed several times. It served as the master tape of the American fantasy film Ghost released in 1990, starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.
It is an American comedy-drama recounting the story of a young man who is assassinated along an alley lane in front of his live-in partner. He becomes a ghost, with his same spirit and soul, but can no longer touch his beloved one. However, thanks to a medium, played by Whoopi Goldberg, he succeeds to communicate, and she thus understands he is still there, though bodiless, by her side, prior to his final departure for heaven.
