Il y aura cent mille chansons is a sublime piece of work in which a woman, who falls in love with a man, expresses her feelings towards him, some dreamy timeless feelings of joy that disregard reality.
This is one of the greatest hits of Eddy Marnay who worded the lyrics, and of Michel Magne who composed the music.
The song, sung by Frida Boccara in 1968, was an outstanding hit song. The singer Maysa had, earlier on, in 1963, performed it in Roger Vadim’s film Le Repos du Guerrier, starring Brigitte Bardot and Robert Hossein.
Cent mille maisons
Gravées à ton nom
Parmi les moissons de la terre.
Cent mille chansons rien qu´à nous
Cent mille horizons devant nous
Partagés de bonheur
Tout étalé de nos cœurs
Et des pays reconnus
Et des forêts éperdues
Et des chagrins défendus
Et tes yeux et mes yeux
Dans un océan d´amour.
